Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew up in Mexico with a family that loved music. Growing up she was influenced by Boleros, classical music and the more traditional romantic, ranchero, and romance ballads. Ana is passionate about opera and tangos, along with any dramatic performance. She was taught by her mother to sing. However, she began more intensive singing lessons through Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera Tenor. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. The singer performed at Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities as a young musician and student. In 2000 she moved back to America. United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she returned to her current home in Southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. Alongside being an instructor and performer in the local area and instructor, her passion for music and art keeps her involved in a range of initiatives. Ana has also been an active member of the Community Chorus of Redlands as and the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to have the opportunity to share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to encourage younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
