Aisling O'Sullivan, more popularly known by her stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984), is an Irish actress, writer and comedian. Following appearances in bits in a variety of Irish and British TV shows from 2009, Bea began her professional career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. In 2012, she was frequently being featured on sketch comedy programs as well as sitcoms. After she was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA), she started to appear frequently in panel shows. She was a captain of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team between 2016 and 2017 and is an ongoing contestant on its spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the child of Brian O'Sullivan, and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is the younger of her siblings. She was in 2012 the only woman in history to win the So You Believe That You're Funny award. She uses the surnamed Bea to honor her late father. Aisling O'Sullivan, whose real name is as Cliodhnadh Aisling was born in Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian is an equine doctor who took his own life at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how her father died until after she was thirteen. To honor her father, she adopted the stage-name Bea and, in the year 2017, wrote an article about suicides that affected her family members for The Guardian. Bea was raised with her younger sister Sinead by Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary instructor, trainer of jockeys, and a former professional racer. Her parents were obsessed by horses and racing. Bea was a trainer for The Irish National Stud in her beginning years. But she was aware it wasn't something she wanted to be in a career and she preferred doing.
